ABOUT US

OUR MISSION

Loving Our Cities is a 501(c) (3) nonprofit community development corporation with a mission to enhance the quality of life where we live, work, serve, and worship through civic engagement, community programming, education, and workforce development.

OUR VISION

Since its founding in 2014, Loving Our Cities has sought to impact societal change by addressing systemic barriers compromising the quality of life in our region.

Conceived as the community engagement arm of The Perfecting Church, Loving Our Cities emerged as members and neighbors of The Perfecting Church answered the call to love our neighbors, identifying needs and meeting them, to foster reconciliation and transformation in distressed communities locally and abroad.

Today, Loving Our Cities offers a variety of direct programs and services including a 9,000 square-foot warehouse serving as a Food HUB and base of operations for our five food pantries serving Burlington, Camden, Cumberland, Gloucester and Salem Counties; marriage, family, individual and financial counseling; support groups for those recovering from trauma or struggling with mental illness; and mentoring and job readiness training such as Millennial Labs, a workforce development initiative.

Critical to our effort is restorative justice, dismantling institutional and systemic impediments such as racial, ethnic, and income disparities that compromise the quality of life of historically marginalized communities struggling to equitably access nutrient-rich food, healthcare, housing, education, employment, and economic opportunities.

Join us in Loving Our Cities as we imagine and realize a world where all are seen as equals and have access to resources for individuals and communities to flourish equitably.
