LOVING
OUR CITIES
Loving Our Cities is a 501c3 community development corporation serving as the community engagement arm of The Perfecting Church with a mission to enhance the quality of life where we live, work, serve and worship. Inspired by a guiding principle that “Church is not a building,” Loving Our Cities seeks to mobilize people and partners to “Be the Church” in addition to attending one by addressing needs in marginalized communities locally and abroad.
“HUB”
In response to the COVID-19 pandemic that compounded the urgent crisis of food insecurity in South Jersey, Loving Our Cities partnered with the Food Bank of South Jersey to retrofit a 9,000-square-foot warehouse on the campus of Perfecting Plaza to serve as a Food Distribution HUB. Since its opening in 2021, Loving Our Cities has supplied its five pantries, as well as neighboring food pantries and food banks such as the Food Bank of South Jersey, with much-needed storage space to address the growing demand for food, yielding a social enterprise credited with distributing food to 30,000 individuals annually and employing two people through its Millennial Labs workforce development initiative.
